  • The Interweb

In an interesting turn of events, I was anonymously quoted on one website that I read (Valleywag) based on a random comment I posted on another site (Digg).  It’s a small web after all.

P.S. Valleywag edited my comment to make it seem harsher than I meant it to be.  I still love you Kevin Rose.

  • how did you find this out? just run across it? O.o

  • @porcupinesol -

I subscribe to Valleywag’s RSS feed, so I just saw the story there and recognized my own comment heh.  Btw, don’t worry about those digg commenters on your entry… some of them are pretty immature ;/

  • oh, ha, wait! you were the one that dugg the tat? NICE, i get it now. man, i’m a tard.

yeh ’bout the comments, um, if those bothered me (retarded comments that is) then i’d have committed suicide over some of the ones left at my actual post.

  • @patrick - i just reread the whole article, well, both links you offered. do you personally feel that there is a “conspiracy” of sorts behind digg which involves “secret editors” or people who bury stories they personally don’t like?

  • @porcupinesol -

Well I’m glad you don’t care about random people hating on you over the internet, they are just trying to get attention heh.  And I don’t think there is any sort of conspiracy on Digg’s part, but I would be curious to know how their human editors decide what is “spam” and what isn’t, since that doesn’t seem too clearly defined in this context.  If they were a little more open about it, people wouldn’t come up with these conspiracy theories that are way off base  Of course, Valleywag is billed as a “gossip rag” and is prone to sensationalism.

  • thanks Patrick!!

  • Hello Patrick,
I like your site that you worked hard to make simple yet elegant. The pictures are a nice touch. I see that you have a wide variety of interests and observations here!
I like to write articles about God and religion on my site to help people to really get to know God, especially in these troubled times.”All they have eyes for is the fashionable god of darkness. They think he can give them what they want, and that they won’t have to bother believing a Truth they can’t see…” (2Corinthians 4:4) (Message Bible) I hope you get a chance to look at them.

  • whoah. somebody actually edited your own comment. that IS scary.

  • hi this is badassjessica69 you so stop by and say hi to me soon..

  • ur a cutie. how old r u? im 22

  • @xxForever21xx -

Hey, thanks for the compliment.  I’m 24.  I do have a girlfriend though

  • HOW DO YOU TURN THESE FUCKING RECOMMENDATIONS OFF!  I DIDN’T WANT SPAM BEFORE AND I DON’T WANT IT NOW.

  • @Lifes_Station -

Looks like you need to turn off your caps lock key first.  At the moment, the only opt-out is for disabling recommendations on your own items.  We’re thinking of different possibilities for recommendations, like making it a separate tab in the public feed or filtering out recommendations from users whose items you don’t click on.

  • The whole thing you pronounce interferes with my point of view, I cogitate so
