Had great fun moving servers around yesterday!   I got to the
office at 5:45 AM to start out the day, which would involve travelling
to multiple secret “high security” locations, and ended up leaving at
around 9 PM.  Moving servers on and off of a truck is made all the
more exciting by the fact that they wobble around and there is the
potential for getting crushed underneath thousands of pounds of
computer hardware.  Fortunately, we survived the day without any
major incidents.  The things we do for the Xanga community…

Tensions ran high at one point, and a cage match
broke out in our now-abandoned previous facility.  In Joel’s
account he first claims that he defeated me, then that the match never
even happened (despite photographic evidence to the contrary).
The reason behind the brawl has also been lost to history… some
believed it was an argument over who would get to ride shotgun over to
Newark, but that theory has since been disproven.  The real truth
    may never be known.

  • Personally, I think Patrick just wanted an excuse to put his hands on me.

  • cool deal…thanks for da’ move.

  • I think I’m going to agree with Joel on this one…

  • Hey, I posted about this already on Chris Choi’s site, but I was thinking it might be a nice service to offer xanga users to back up their work.  I would pay for some kind of subscription service that would back up everyting I ever posted on DVD on some kind of quarterly basis.  What do you think?  Is that something you have considered?  I mean, if one of those servers went down during transport, everything I have ever done could have been lost with no way of retrieval.  Just a thought.

  • Man that cage match looked absolutely brutal!  Haha.

  • guys… any opportunity to kill each other and they’ll grab it! :) Thanks xanga team! And you’ve got some lovely pictures in your photoblog…

    2. We just moved the servers that run the site over to Newark, our offices are still Manhattan

    3. We only put stuff on the home page that’s related to feature upgrades and such… no free eprops for us ;)

  • good job on moving!! Great job on the cage match that I AM SURE broke out!! I’m purty sick in the cage my self. As a matter of fact you might as well call me the flu cause I’m SICK in the cage lol ha jk thanks again

  • Wow, that zack guy’s jokes are really…bad.

So I’m wondering why you needed to move.  Glad everything went well (for the most part).

  • After much wandering, I have discovered an IMSA alumn. -gasp-

  • so how was the cage fight?

  • We had to move our servers because the old facility wasn’t big enough to hold all the new servers we’ve been buying to expand the site.

Also, the cage match was indescribably awesome.
